Carolina is born in Frankfurt, Germany and grows up between Berlin and Rome.

From the very beginning she is exposed and starts exploring various styles of music ranging from Funk to Rock, from Jazz to  Afrolatin, from Rap to Scat, from Gospel to Flamenco...

Her voice is “soul” in an authentic sense , warm and sinuous and at the same time dramatic and desecrated.

Author of lyrics, music and arrangements she has been defined a “musical architect”.

Thanks to various experiences in the realm of theater, dance and the figurative arts, her performances surpass the traditional concert format in order to embrace the one of a “total” show;

“fusion”, in the real sense of the term,  expressed by a polyglot mind ,evident also by  means of multilingual lyrics.

Carolina grows up and gravitates around the musical environements of Berlin, New York City and Boston, where in 1992  she graduates from Berklee College of Music with concentrated studies in voice, performance and jazz composition.

In NYC she also attends the Actor Studio, the New School and is member of the Jazz Cultural Theatre led by Barry Harris.

In her band of the american period  “Red in Black” she leads and creates a scene with  some of the finest young upcoming musicians such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Scott Kinsey, Matt Garrison, Donny McCasslin, Seamus Blake, Jim Black among others, with whom she performs regularly on the East Coast.

In NYC she performs weekly at the Zinc Bar with Marvin Sewell (J.deJohnette, C.Wilson).

Back in Italy she furthermore collaborates at the clinics held by Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music.She works as an actress in the theatre production “Foraminiferi” directed by Imogen Kusch and represented at the Colosseum Thaetre in Rome.

She becomes leader of a quintet of great musicians such as Yavier Girotto, Alex Gwis, Marco Siniscalco and Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez and gains herself a reputation of innovative vocalist and composer.

Her next project O.M.P (Original Musical Paint)  establishes herself in Italy performing  at major clubs and festivals among others “Alexanderplatz, La Palma, Classico Village, Villa Celimontana Jazz, Archeojazz, Ponzajazzfestival, Assisi Jazz Fest etc.” And in 2004 the higly expected debut CD of O.M.P is released by CNI, La Frontiera.Besides she creates new and exciting projects such as “DUO TRIANGOLARE” with bassist Luca Pirozzi  and “QUINTESSENZ” an ensemble for voice, trumpet, trombone , bass and drums.

Currently Carolina is working on O.M.P‘s second CD “FLOWERS OF THE DEEPER SOIL”.
